Our mission is to grow healthy fresh food and shorten the distance between the source and plate, to reduce the amount of industrial waste, food waste and plastics that we contribute to the landfill by reusing and re-purposing building materials and many of our essential tools and equipment.

Works for Now Farm is a micro farm in coastal northern California raising quality ADGA dwarf dairy goats, Black Copper Marans and Cream Crested Legbar, Humboldt Green laying chickens, fredom ranger (TM) broiler chickens and honey bees. We strive to grow our animals, vegetables and gardens using sustainable, regenerative and traditional agriculture methods.
Our work to restore and rehabilitate a small neglected parcel of land, just under three acres, located near Humboldt bay began in 2020. We started with overgrown blackberries, 10 foot high, sprawling over most of the growing spaces along with a desire for fertile manure for the newly planted gardens and cheese for our farmhouse culinary creations.
Farmers J & Farmer K are so excited to share we have started a new endeavor. In hopes to support our tiny herd of goats here at the farm by providing our community with hand made small batch whole goat milk body care products as Black Goat Provisions. Look for the new Black Goat Provisions Shopify Store where you can purchase directly from the farm! Follow our social media for updates, including pop-ups, craft fairs, and stores you can now find us.
